Dear First Grade Parent(s),
Due to PSSA testing this week, our first grade schedule has changed a bit. The first grade students will have special class at 9:15 AM Since our schedule is changed for this week, I am unable to take phone calls from parents during 2:35-3:10 as I have in the past. If you need to contact me, please contact me prior to the start of the school day or you may e-mail me at sbuckley@keyknox.com
Thank you,

Celebrating Dr. Seuss
Dear First Grade Parent(s),
We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss and the love of reading during the week of February 27th. On Friday, March 2nd, Dr. Seuss' birthday, we will complete Seuss centers and have one parent volunteer from each first grade classroom read to the first grade students. If you would be interested in reading to the first grade students on Friday, March 2nd from 1:00-2:00, please let me know. I will select a parent reader by using a lottery system.
Thank you,
Mrs. B
Valentine's Day Party
We will celebrate Valentine's Day with a mini celebration on Tuesday afternoon. Please be respectful of the Wellness Policy established by the school district. Please also note that any sugary items that are sent in with your child will be returned and sent home with your child. I appreciate your cooperation.
Many thanks,
Mrs. B
Leprechaun Traps
Dear First Grade Parent(s),
It's hard to believe that March will soon be here and with that comes sneaky leprechauns. Your child will need your help to construct a leprechaun trap at home using any materials that you wish. Your child will share their leprechaun trap with their classmates by explaining how the trap will work to catch a leprechaun. This project will also be used as a writing activity using transitional words (first, next, then, last, etc) Your child will complete their writing in the classroom.
I completed this project last year with my students and it was a HUGE hit. Have fun constructing the leprechaun trap as a family. If you have any questions, please contact me. Leprechaun traps are due Monday, March 12th.
Many thanks for your help with this project,
Mrs. Buckley
