The first grade students will be traveling to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Important papers will be coming home regarding this field trip. I am usually asked by parents well in advance if they can be a chaperone for our annual field trip. I will follow the chaperone policy that I established four years ago. I will send home a paper regarding the request for parent chaperones, this paper will also include a designated deadline. Parent chaperones will be chosen by a lottery system, I have found this to be the fairest way to select parent chaperones. I will notify the parents that have been chosen so that they can make arrangements to their work schedules if needed.
