We are off to a great start in classroom 103. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity
to work with your child; this is a GREAT group of kids.
The students eat an early lunch; therefore I believe that the
students benefit from an afternoon snack.
I will provide snacks throughout the year and would greatly appreciate
help in keeping our snack cabinet stocked.
If you do send in snacks for the classroom, please be respectful of the
Wellness Policy established by the district.
There are 18 students in the classroom.
I would like to thank those of you that have already sent in snacks in
the last few weeks. I am hopeful that
everyone will be supportive in sending in snacks throughout the year.It is important to encourage your child to be responsible for their personal belongings. Every day your child will bring home their black folder containing papers completed that day, as well as letters, forms, homework, etc. Please check your child’s folder each evening and encourage your child to return it to school each day. I have been told, “My mom didn’t put it in my backpack.” Please know that this excuse does not work in my classroom. I also encourage and expect the students to be responsible. J
Your child should be reviewing their sight word ring each evening,
keeping in mind that the sight words should be recognized within three seconds
and your child should be able to spell the sight words too.
Please review and sign your child’s reading test and return it to
school the following day. I keep all
reading tests on file. If you have any
questions regarding your child’s test, please do not hesitate to contact me.
An informational paper regarding how to access the online version of
the reading textbook was sent home with your child. Your child’s username and password is
documented on the paper, please keep it for your records. Please note that the “My Test Scores” tab is
not accessible, as the students do not take their reading tests using the
electronic format.
